Accelerating Future has a piece about some interesting progress for the Singularity Institute. Apparently they have offices right here in SF. I still believe that the Friendly AI initiative will have a hard time achieving meaningful success. I think it’s more likely that we will be able to create friendly Uploads first, or at least that we should strive towards that goal.
